Maharashtra Govt To Build 126-Km Long Alibaug-Virar Multi-Modal Corridor

This greenfield expressway was originally planned in 2011 by MMRDA. In September 2020, a deal was signed to hand its construction to MSRDC. According to a latest development, the Maharashtra government has decided to build a 126-km Virar-Alibaug MMC

MSRDC is an approved 14 lane access-controlled expressway with a route alignment within MMR in Maharashtra. The expressway will connect three districts – Raigad, Thane, and Palghar. Its construction will be done in 2 phases – Phase 1: a 98.5-km highway between Navghar and Balavali, and Phase 2: a 29.9 km highway between Balavali and Alibaug. The expressway is expected to be completed and opened in 2030
