Mumbai and Thane have recently received a major boost to their transportation infrastructure with the inauguration of two new signal-free corridors by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) constructed the two corridors, which are expected to bring significant relief from the heavy traffic congestion on the Mumbai-Thane route
The first corridor connects the Mankhurd flyover and Chheda Nagar Junction in Ghatkopar to Thane on the Eastern Express Highway (EEH). The 1.23-kilometre-long flyover from Mankhurd to Thane will provide signal-free travel to commuters. After the completion of the SCLR and East Freeway projects, the traffic at Chheda Nagar Junction in Ghatkopar had increased significantly
