The Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1, a much-delayed infrastructure project, is finally set to be commissioned in the next few months. The City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (CIDCO), which is the nodal agency for the project, is expected to obtain the Commission of Railway Safety (CMRS) certificate for the Belapur-Kharghar stretch soon
The Kharghar-Pendhar stretch of the Metro line already received CMRS certification in October 2021. The Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1, spanning over 11.1 kilometres from Belapur to Pendhar, comprises 11 stations, including Belapur, Science Park, Utsav Chowk, Central Park, and Pendhar Terminal, among others. The project, which has been under construction since 2011, was delayed due to the non-availability of experts and contractors
