Coastal road to be named after Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj

The Coastal Road will be named after Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and a statue of the 16th-century Maratha warrior will be constructed on the coastal highway, said Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Sunday. Meanwhile, in a tweet, Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis shared a letter he had written to the chief minister, requesting to name Bandra-Versova Sealink after freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar and MTHL after former Prime Minister late Atal Bihari Vajpayee

The announcement by the CM on the coastal road was made on the occasion of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Jayanti festival organised at the Gateway of India. “We will name the coastal highway, which will be the new lifeline of Mumbai, after Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. We will also construct a grand statue of Sambhaji Maharaj on the road that will keep his memory alive,” Shinde said at the 366th birth anniversary of Sambhaji Maharaj
