Mumbai Metro opens FOBs on Metro Line 7

In a significant relief for Mumbai’s Metro commuters, two foot overbridges (FOBs) – Dindoshi and Rashtriya Udyan – have been opened to the public. This development allows safe crossing of the Western Express Highway (WEH) from Metro Line 7. SVR Srinivas, the Commissioner of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), inaugurated the FOBs on Thursday

SVR Srinivas, He emphasized that these FOBs are vital components of the multi-modal integration plans, which prioritize accessibility, safety, and last-mile connectivity from Metro stations. Srinivas highlighted that the FOBs will not only benefit Metro passengers but also pedestrians seeking to cross the roads. Private offices and commercial establishments are also utilizing FOBs to connect their premises with nearby Metro stations. This direct connectivity enables people to reach malls and offices without having to cross busy roads, thus reducing conflicts and accidents
