There were 234 rehabilitation projects underway and 2,205 slum households were found eligible for allotment of flats at construction cost. A sub-committee was set up under the housing minister to decide on the construction cost for the rehab flat, which has now been fixed at Rs 2.5 lakh. “It is expected that more people will now come forward to purchase these flats. They will need to produce documents such as electricity bills, birth certificates, voter ID cards to prove the hut existed during this period,” senior SRA official
