MMRDA Seeks 5-7 Hectares Of More Land For Metro Line-6

Apart from the Kanjurmarg depot, approvals are also pending for the construction of car depots at Mogharpada for Metro Line-4, Kashell for Metro Line-5, and Uttan for Metro Line-9. Acquiring the additional land will contribute to smoother operations of the metro lines. The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has submitted a request for an additional 5-7 hectares

This land adjacent to the Kanjurmarg Depot site for the construction of Metro Line-6, which will connect Swami Samarth Nagar, Jogeshwari, Vikhroli, and Kanjurmarg. This request comes in addition to the 15 hectares of land already allocated by the state government for the depot. The MMRDA is awaiting permission from the government for this additional land, as well as approvals for building car depots associated with other metro lines, as stated by a senior MMRDA official
