MHADA has extended the participation time period for the affordable housing lottery draw for a total of 4,072 houses till July 10. The earlier deadline was June 26. The lottery draw application submission started on May 22. Till 6pm on June 24, the Mumbai Board received 80,578 applications while 55,874 applicants made the deposit payment confirming their participation in the lottery draw
In the previous lottery draw held by Mumbai Board, it had received over a lakh applications from interested homebuyers. However, this time despite having over 4,000 houses, the housing authority has received less participation so far. Therefore, the authority has extended the time for participation in the lottery. It is also the first time that MHADA has adopted a complete online procedure for lottery application eliminating human interference in the system
