Construction of the elevated Metro Line 6, enroute from Swami Samarth Nagar (Lokhandwala area) to Vikhroli (Eastern Express Highway) along the JVLR (Jogeshwari Vikhroli Link Road), is Mumbai city’s first tallest Metro line compared to the other under construction metros built at a height of 16 metres. Metro Line 6 is being built at a height equivalent to a 10-storeyed building.
At many places along the alignment, the tallest pillars have been raised with rail level at a height of 29.5 metres from the ground. The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is constructing this elevated metro line. Currently, the tallest Metro corridor is the Metro Line 4 in Delhi near Haiderpur, which is 28 metres tall from the ground level.
