In order to provide seamless connectivity, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will construct a bridge over Poisar river in Kandivali (West) of western suburbs in the city. For this, the the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has offered land to the civic body for construction of 30 meters long bridge towards Malad.
The bridge has been proposed in BMC’s Development Plan – 2034 model.. The bridge was planned keeping in mind the future growth of vehicles and the population in this area. Once constructed, it will be able to declutter this place by a good margin, said an official. Kandivali and Malad are densely populated areas in the western suburbs However, it does not have adequate road network to connect it with the commercial areas near the railway station or with areas across the Poisa river, which originates from Malad and extends northwards till Dahisar.
