In a bid to accelerate the construction of Metro corridors and pre-empt potential delays, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has established dedicated expert teams for each Metro line. The ground-breaking strategy christened as ‘one line, one manager’ is expected to redefine the construction process and is a decisive step towards achieving punctuality and precision.
“Previously, various aspects such as electrical and civil work lacked clear ownership, leading to potential bottlenecks. With this new approach, we’ve designated a team leader for each Metro line, along with directors overseeing comprehensive progress. This shift promises a substantial change,” said Sanjay Mukherjee, MMRDA commissioner, while explaining his insights into the transformational move.
