In a significant development, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has sanctioned ?600 crore for the development of infrastructure in the Vasai-Virar suburbs of Maharashtra. This move aims to provide a much-needed boost to the region’s transportation and connectivity, thereby improving the overall quality of life for residents.
The funds allocated will primarily be utilized for two crucial projects. The first project involves the construction of a 2.5-kilometer flyover connecting Vasai Road and Naigaon on the Western Express Highway. This flyover is expected to ease traffic congestion and enable smoother transit between these heavily populated regions. With an estimated cost of ?285 crore, this flyover is a crucial step towards enhancing transportation efficiency.
