The Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) has issued a warning to project promoters, stating that failing to use certified and trained real estate agents may result in the application for project registration being rejected, the registration being revoked, or a penalty being imposed. MahaRERA set deadlines for the submission of the MahaRERA real estate agent certificate of competency in January 2023 and issued an order.
Additionally, it had instructed promoters to make sure that the agents’ names and addresses only belonged to people who had successfully completed training and obtained a MahaRERA real estate agent certificate of competency. The deadlines for the same were once more extended. After a year, MahaRERA made the decision to prohibit agent renewals or new registrations without certification. Additionally, developers were told to limit their operations to using only certified and trained agents after January 1, 2024.
