Mumbai’s real estate sector sees a 9% uptick in property registrations in April

In April 2024, there were 11,504 property registrations in the Mumbai real estate market, up from 10,514 the previous year, a growth of around 9%. According to Maharashtra government data, stamp duty collections from property registrations increased by 16 percent, from Rs 900 crore to Rs 1,043 crore in April 2024.

In March 2024, there were 14,149 property registrations overall, with stamp duty collections totaling Rs 1,123 crore on a monthly basis. 80 percent of the properties registered in the Mumbai real estate market in April 2024 were residential units, according to data analysis by Knight Frank India. According to data, properties up to 500 square feet were the most sought-after size, with 45% of registrations in this category for April 2024.
