1,750 abandoned housing projects have had their registrations maintained in limbo by the Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA), while 1,137 more have had their registrations suspended for failing to provide a status update even after the project’s estimated completion date.
Out of the 1,750 projects that have lapsed, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region has the most with 761. This is followed by the Pune region with 628, North Maharashtra with 135; Vidarbha with 110; Marathwada with 100; Dadra and Nagar Haveli with 13; and Daman with three.
