CIDCO Files Complaints With NMMC Regarding Removal of Blockage in DPS Lake

In a first for the city planners, CIDCO has filed a formal complaint against Navi Mumbai Muncipal Corporation in writing to the NRI Coastal police for opening the blocked water inlets at the DPS Flamingo lake in Nerul. The astonished greens have declared that Cidco’s actions merely validate the accusations made against them over their plan to turn the DPS lake into an infrastructure that generates revenue without regard for the ecology.

The Senior Police Inspector of the Coastal Police received a letter signed by the executive engineer of CIDCO at Vashi, stating that MLA Ganesh Naik had visited the DPS Flamingo Lake area on May 23 and instructed NMMC authorities to unlock the closed channels. As a result, NMMC contractors replaced a 300 mm pipe that was already in place with a 600 mm pipe and even used 10 horse power motors to draw water from the creek.
