The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is confronting allegations of significant irregularities and malpractices within the Maha Mumbai Metro. In response, MMRDA Commissioner Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee has ordered an investigation after uncovering suspicious activities in the metro’s operations, official sources reported on Thursday.
According to sources, the Commissioner first detected these irregularities and promptly informed Managing Director (MD) Rubal Agarwal through a formal letter. Acting swiftly, MD Agarwal conducted an initial inquiry within a week, which revealed that the General Manager (GM) of Human Resources was primarily responsible. To ensure a thorough and transparent investigation, MD Agarwal has mandated a more detailed examination of the HR, Finance, and Operations departments and has temporarily relieved the manager of his duties at Maha Mumbai Metro.
