Three companies have submitted bids to MMRDA for the construction of a depot in Dongri, close to Bhayander, for Metros 7A and 9 (Dahisar-Mira Bhayander). At least 40 stabling lines will be included at the 59.65-hectare depot to facilitate train repair and parking while not in use.
The lowest bidder will receive the tender, according to an official, who stated that after technical review, the proposals from KPC Projects Ltd, NCC Ltd, and Ritwik Projects Pvt Ltd will be opened. MMRDA will rely on the Charkop depot, which presently serves Metros 2A and 7 (Andheri West-Dahisar-Gundavli), in the interim. Because Metro 7 is linked to line 9, there won’t be any problems operating services until the depot is prepared.
