Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has announced major advancements in Mumbai’s infrastructure. The eagerly awaited Sewri-Worli connector is scheduled to open for traffic by the end of December 2025, significantly enhancing city connectivity. Additionally, 37 kilometers of Metro lines in the state are set to be commissioned within this financial year, further improving Mumbai’s transportation network.
Out of the approved 449 kilometers of Metro lines, 127 kilometers are already operational. This year, an additional 37 kilometers will become operational, including the 32.5-kilometer-long Metro 3 corridor. The first phase of this corridor, from Aarey to BKC, is expected to open by September, with the remaining section to Cuffe Parade anticipated by December.
