The newly built lane on the C. D. Barfiwala Flyover, which connects Juhu and Andheri, was opened to the public today at 5 p.m., marking a significant milestone meant to reduce traffic congestion. This occurs following the accomplishment of thorough traffic management testing and auxiliary work.
The flyover, which was briefly opened to traffic on July 1, was abruptly closed in less than 30 minutes, per BMC authorities, because of an unanticipated event involving the removal of plastic obstacles. Following the incident, officials stopped traffic immediately in order to take preventative steps. Senior traffic police officers reiterated the necessity for strict safety standards before reopening, citing current construction activity and safety concerns as reasons for the sudden shutdown.
