NMMC Appoints Official for Recently Merged 14 Villages

NMMC

Four months following the final government notification confirming the merger of 14 villages on the Navi Mumbai-Thane-Kalyan border with the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC), the civic body has appointed an official to oversee the region.

These villages, originally part of NMMC at its inception, separated in 2007 but later sought to rejoin Navi Mumbai. NMMC informed the government that the estimated cost for infrastructure and services development in these villages would be around ₹6,100 crore, with ₹600 crore allocated specifically for developing gaothans.
