Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has finally approved the construction of Maharashtra Bhavan in Vashi, Navi Mumbai, ending a two-decade-long hold-up. The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) has issued e-tenders inviting technical and commercial bids for building Maharashtra Bhavan on plots 12 and 13 in sector 30A of Vashi.
The Bhoomi puja for the bhavan is anticipated to take place in August. This center will highlight the pride and culture of Maharashtra and provide accommodation for visitors from various regions of the state. The project, with an estimated cost of Rs 121 crore, has a two-year completion timeline, inclusive of the monsoon season. The delay was primarily due to disputes over the funding of the project.
