CID Issues Apology Following High Court Reprimand for ‘Illegal’ Raid on Developer’s Home

The state’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has extended an unconditional apology after the Bombay High Court criticised the agency for conducting an unlawful raid on developer Shyamsunder Agarwal’s residence. The raid, which took place at midnight on January 30, involved officers ransacking the house and allegedly harassing family members.

Agarwal filed a criminal writ petition, claiming that police officials, under the influence of his rival Sanjay Punamia, had carried out the illegal search and harassment at his home.
