Maharashtra has been allocated Rs 15,940 crore for railway development projects, according to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. He stated that 41 projects, spanning 5,877 kilometers of the rail network and valued at Rs 81,580 crore, are currently in progress within the state.
Key initiatives include the redevelopment of 128 stations under the Amrit Bharat Station scheme. The state has also achieved full railway electrification and is laying 180 kilometers of new tracks annually. Vaishnaw highlighted that the total railway investment in Maharashtra amounts to Rs 1.3 lakh crore, with substantial funds earmarked for various projects in this year’s budget.
