To tackle the heavy traffic congestion on Ghodbunder Road in Thane, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has issued a tender for a significant road expansion project. This initiative aims to alleviate the chronic gridlock in the area.
Earlier this month, during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, the MMRDA approved the tendering process for this ambitious project.
The development plan includes constructing a 15.5-kilometer stretch from Gaimukh in Thane to Bhayandar. The project will adopt a dual approach, featuring an underground tunnel from Gaimukh to the Fountain Hotel Junction and an elevated road extending from the Fountain Hotel Junction to Bhayandar.
