Chinchpokali Station Slated for Renovation

As part of the Amrit Bharat initiative, which the railway ministry initiated to improve station amenities, the Central Railway (CR) would renovate the Chinchpokli station with an elevated deck at a cost of Rs 41 crores.

The goal of the proposed station renovation is to better properly divide the passenger load by creating 600 square meters of commercial space on the deck’s roof.

The rooftop amenities, which offer a panoramic view of Mumbai’s cityscape, are reportedly set to rise nine meters above track level. Remarkably, when the building is finished, the station will have the appearance of a contemporary metro station.

Additionally, the current pedestrian pavement on the road overbridge will be extended, providing a great deal more room for passengers to disembark at the station.

This will be especially noticeable during the Ganpati season when large crowds come to this station to see the idols of Lord Ganesh that have been installed by several mandals, chief among them Lalbaugcha Raja.
