Over five thousand unlawful buildings have been taken down in NAINA

From 2020 to 2024, the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) will not tolerate any unauthorized building or encroachment within the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA).

More than five thousand buildings have been taken down to make way for the creation of a new land-pooling community. Criminal actions have also been started by CIDCO against individuals engaged in soil theft and unlawful debris dumping.

Special teams have been sent in to remove encroachments, despite the difficulties encountered in doing so. As many as 48 incidents have been reported in relation to illegal transportation, theft of soil, and improper dumping of trash, according to CIDCO Chief Vigilance Officer Suresh Mengde, who led the raids. 124 cars were seized during the late-night operations.
