Driving on the tiny, encroached lanes of Vasai-Virar, which is adjacent to Mumbai, has become challenging. Every day, the issue becomes worse. Residents have been bothered by the traffic since the morning.
The Municipal Corporation had created a plan to construct six flyovers in Vasai-Virar four years prior. The Municipal Corporation submitted this proposal to MMRDA, however it was unable to move forward due to a lack of funding. The MMRDA has now administratively approved the four flyovers that are being considered to alleviate the traffic congestion in Vasai-Virar city.
The railways will need to provide their approval before the work can begin. The building of this flyover will make it easier to get from BEST to Vasai-Virar East. Traffic bottlenecks will also be relieved for the citizens.
Vasai-Virar is a 380 square kilometer city with over 30 lakh people living there. There are several traffic issues in the city as a result of the encroachment on the limited roads.
