In the presence of prominent Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) officials and industrialist Gautam Singhania, the first stone for the construction of a massive temple dedicated to Shri Lord Venkateshwara at Ulwe in Navi Mumbai was set on Wednesday, according to news agency PTI.
Attendees included Venkaiah Choudhary, the trust’s additional executive officer, and J Shyamala Rao, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer and TTD’s executive officer. The huge shrine, which is a re-creation of the well-known Balaji Temple in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, had its foundation stone laid on June 7, 2023, during a ceremony officiated by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and his deputy CM Fadnavis.
The state government has given the Raymond Group a 10-acre area on which to build the temple. For devotees in the area, the Shri Lord Venkateshwara Temple in Navi Mumbai is a project with great cultural and spiritual significance. Our dedication to safeguarding and fostering India’s rich religious legacy is demonstrated by this temple.
“We will give it top priority and make sure it’s a respected hub for worship and community events soon,” said Gautam Singhania, Chairman and Managing Director of Raymond Ltd., following the installation of the temple’s first decorative stone. The Ulwe temple site is situated close to the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (Atal Setu) and the future Navi Mumbai International Airport.
