Mumbai: DRPPL Extends Support to 250 Ganapati Mandals in Dharavi

In keeping with the Ganpati festival spirit, the Dharavi Redevelopment Project Pvt Ltd (DRPPL) donated money to 250 Dharavi mandals that engage in social welfare initiatives.

Every year, these mandals provide books and stationery to students in Dharavi, as well as health screening and cataract surgery camps. “Ensuring that benefits reach the maximum number of locals as part of its social commitment towards Dharavi and its residents” is the stated goal of the DRPPL act.

“This year, financial support was provided to small and large Ganpati mandals under our youth engagement program,” a DRPPL official stated. The intention is to support these mandals in their efforts to carry out Dharavikars-beneficial activities.

“The DRPPL’s support will strengthen our social initiatives,” stated Vinod Dhoifode of Sai Kripa mitra mandal, which has been hosting a sarvajanik Ganpati pandal in Dharavi for the past 20 years. We want the residents of Dharavi to be aware of the real story behind the reconstruction and to avoid believing untruths. They will expel the outsiders who oppose redevelopment by themselves.
