For the 2,030 flats made available under the Mumbai Board, the Mumbai Housing and Area Development Board (MHADA) has received 1,34,350 applications. Out of these, 1,13,811 candidates have paid the requisite Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) to guarantee their spot in the program.
The application period ended at 11:59 PM on September 19, 2024, and the EMD payment deadline remains the same. On September 27, 2024, at 6:00 PM, the MHADA official website, will publish the tentative list of qualified candidates. Applicants may file any claims or objections online until September 29, 2024, at 12 PM. The final list of qualified applicants will be released at 6:00 PM on October 3, 2024.
On August 9, 2024, at 11:00 AM, the housing lottery’s registration and approval process got underway using the open, fully online IHLMS 2.0 system. 1,327 units in recently built developments, 370 units from rehabilitation schemes under DCR 33 (5), (7), and 58, and 333 scattered units from prior lotteries make up the 2,030 tenements enlisted for sale in the lottery.
All income levels have demonstrated a considerable demand for these tenements. According to information provided by the MHADA, 35,359 applications were received for 359 units under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), and 47,134 of those applicants confirmed their participation by paying the EMD.
The Shivdham project in Malad (1 flat) attracted 419 applications in the recently constructed projects category, with 291 of those candidates confirming their participation. 9,519 of the 11,280 applications for the 45 units in the Shivdham Complex were confirmed as EMD submissions.
The strong level of interest underscores Mumbai’s ongoing need for affordable housing and emphasises MHADA’s crucial role in meeting this need. At the Yashwantrao Chavan Centre in South Mumbai on October 8, 2024, the final lottery draw for flat allocation will take place.
