MHADA Residential Building Partially Collapses in Mumbai; No Injuries

A piece of a three-story residential structure owned by the Maharashtra government’s housing agency, Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA), collapsed in Mumbai on Tuesday afternoon, officials said.

No one was harmed in the incident, and the building, which had 30 rooms and eight stores, was evacuated, according to officials. The slab and plaster from the first floor of the building, ‘Karim’, located in central Mumbai’s Madanpura district, fell at around 12.45 p.m., according to a civic official who cited Fire Brigade information. “There was no report of any injuries,” the spokesman stated.

He stated that the building was owned by the MHADA. Another civic official reported that emergency response teams, including the Fire Brigade, police, civic undertaking BEST, ward staff, and an ambulance, were quickly dispatched to the scene. MHADA authorities also paid a visit to the location.
