Because of continuous road construction on the Mumbai-Agra route, the travel time between Nashik and Mumbai has increased by two hours.
There is now two-way traffic on one side of the road between Nashik and Igatpuri as a result of traffic being redirected onto nearby road segments. The Nashik First organisation’s Abhay Kulkarni drew attention to the highway’s terrible state and the ongoing construction between Nashik and Thane.
Travel times have increased from three hours to at least five, and in many situations, more than six hours, due to delays reported by commuters. Concerns regarding possible accidents have been raised by a lack of traffic control, such as lane discipline.
Rajendra Phad from the Nashik Transport Association urged for the deployment of traffic personnel to ensure safer passage and alleviate traffic jams. NHAI officials confirmed that the construction work would be completed in a few months, improving traffic flow.
