Piyush Goyal: Mumbai North Set For Big Infra Push And Redevelopment In 2025

Slum redevelopment and expediting important projects like road and railway line extensions are two of the primary initiatives planned this year to drastically change the urban landscape of his Lok Sabha seat, according to Union Minister Piyush Goyal.

Last year, Goyal emerged victorious from Mumbai North in his first Lok Sabha elections. According to the minister, he would meet with the heads of all relevant ministries in Mumbai on January 4 to discuss the status of ongoing projects.

“An action taken report will be submitted in that meeting, and a time-bound action plan will be formulated for pending issues,” he said.

“This year, we have big plans for my constituency. Our goal is to give ‘pakka’ houses to slum dwellers in the same location as quickly as possible. The project is currently in progress. To improve living conditions, we are also expediting all road and infrastructure projects,” Mr. Goyal told PTI.

According to him, construction will soon begin on all four of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS)-eligible railway stations in his constituency, including Kandivali.

The long-term goal of this effort is to continuously develop stations. He claimed that the Centre’s announcement of the Harbour Line extension to Borivali last year was a huge comfort to passengers who go from Navi Mumbai to North Mumbai and vice versa.

Since “one side we have Sanjay Gandhi National Park and on the other side, we have the beautiful sea,” the minister continued, he is investigating ways to boost tourism in the region.
