In an attempt to combat air pollution, the Maharashtra government is creating a regulation that would require precast construction for real estate companies in Mumbai, state Environment Minister Pankaja Munde said on Saturday.
With incentives provided to entice developers to choose precast techniques over conventional on-site building, the proposed regulation will be applicable to both private and public construction sites.
“Precast construction will allow builders and contractors to source ready-made components from outside the city, reducing on-site activities, cutting air pollution, and ensuring uninterrupted project progress,” Munde explained.
