Mumbaikars, brace yourselves for delays this Sunday. Central Railway, Mumbai Division, will operate a Mega Block on its suburban sections on 1st June to carry out essential engineering and maintenance works.
As per the schedule, up and down slow lines between CSMT (Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus) and Vidyavihar will remain affected from 10:55 AM to 3:55 PM.
Down slow services departing CSMT Mumbai between 10:48 AM and 3:45 PM will be diverted onto the down fast line between CSMT and Vidyavihar. These trains will halt at Byculla, Parel, Dadar, Matunga, Sion, and Kurla, before rejoining the down slow line at Vidyavihar.
Similarly, up slow services leaving Ghatkopar between 10:19 AM and 3:52 PM will run on the up fast line between Vidyavihar and CSMT. These services will also halt at Kurla, Sion, Matunga, Dadar, Parel, and Byculla.
Harbour Line commuters will face further disruptions. Down Harbour line services to Vashi, Belapur, and Panvel leaving CSMT/Vadala Road from 11:16 AM to 4:47 PM, and those to Bandra/Goregaon from 10:48 AM to 4:43 PM, will be suspended.
Likewise, up Harbour line services towards CSMT from Panvel, Belapur, and Vashi (9:53 AM to 3:20 PM) and from Goregaon/Bandra (10:45 AM to 5:13 PM) will not operate during the block.
To mitigate inconvenience, special services will operate between Panvel and Kurla (Platform 8) throughout the block period. Harbour line passengers are also permitted to use Main Line and Western Railway routes between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
These scheduled maintenance blocks are crucial for infrastructure safety and reliability. Central Railway has urged passengers to cooperate and apologised for the inconvenience caused.
