June 30, 2025: The much anticipated Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) is almost finished, and in a few months it will be officially opened. The enormous airport site’s infrastructure is being upgraded quickly as the deadline draws near.
The first look at the new NMIA was given via a video that went viral on the social media site Instagram. The public was given a sneak peek at what one of India’s most cutting-edge aviation hubs would look like thanks to the film. The video, which was shared by Instagram user Ganesh Jadhav (username: @propertycoveage), has received a lot of attention. It shows the recently installed baggage conveyor belts and the employees who are working nonstop to get the terminal ready for use.
The footage, which was shot inside the main terminal building, shows the baggage claim area’s fully functional conveyor systems, roomy interiors and extensive polished flooring. Images of the workers finishing out last-minute duties show that the massive project is nearly ready to receive passengers.
Although the inauguration dates have not yet been set, a number of news stories indicate that the airport’s grand opening is anticipated to take place on September 17, 2025, which also happens to be Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. The project was originally scheduled to be launched on August 15, but the monsoon season and technical difficulties with the terminal and taxiway work caused a delay in the launch.
