Mumbai Metro One Installs Multi-Product Menstrual Hygiene Vending Machines In Tie-Up With Sirona

January 9, 2026: Mumbai Metro One (Versova–Andheri–Ghatkopar) has partnered with femtech brand Sirona to roll out multi-product menstrual hygiene vending machines across select metro stations, strengthening access to period care for women commuters in high-footfall public spaces. The machines are being installed just outside women’s washrooms, offering discreet and convenient access to essential products during daily travel.

The initiative expands on Sirona’s earlier deployments at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport in collaboration with DIAL-GMR and at several M3M commercial complexes in the Delhi-NCR region. Unlike conventional dispensers that typically stock only sanitary pads, Sirona’s machines provide a wider selection, including menstrual cups, sanitary pads, tampons, panty liners and period panties. This choice-led approach allows women to select products that suit their comfort and preferences rather than adjusting to limited availability.

By integrating these machines into metro infrastructure, Mumbai Metro One aims to normalise menstrual hygiene as a basic commuter necessity, similar to drinking water or restrooms. The move reflects a broader national push to embed inclusive, women-centric facilities into everyday public transport systems.

Commenting on the collaboration, Deep Bajaj, Co-founder & CEO, Sirona Hygiene, said, “This is more than convenience, it’s culture change in motion. Over the years, through partnerships at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport with DIAL-GMR and across multiple M3M commercial complexes in Delhi-NCR, we’ve seen how access to menstrual hygiene products in public infrastructure can genuinely change everyday experiences for women. From airports and workplaces to now the Mumbai Metro, it’s encouraging to see infrastructure partners acknowledge women’s real, everyday needs. Periods are normal, and access to the right products should be non-negotiable. We look forward to partnering with many more progressive infrastructure players across India.”

Shyamantak Choudhury, CEO, Mumbai Metro One, said: “At Mumbai Metro One, customer comfort guides every decision. With women forming a significant share of our ridership, integrating their needs into the transit experience is essential. The introduction of Sirona’s multi-product hygiene vending machines, ensures easy, discrete access to preferred hygiene products and reinforces our commitment to world-class metro infrastructure.”

The partnership aligns with Sirona’s mission to break taboos around menstrual hygiene while embedding dignity, choice and accessibility into everyday urban infrastructure.
