Several Long-Distance Trains To Terminate At Dadar & Thane During CSMT Redevelopment Block

Central Railway has announced a 10-day traffic and power block at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus beginning May 29, 2026, due to redevelopment work on platforms 16 and 17. As a result, several long-distance mail and express trains will temporarily terminate at Dadar and Thane instead of reaching CSMT.

Railway officials stated that the block is required to carry out foundation-related and infrastructure modernisation works as part of the larger station redevelopment project being implemented through the Rail Land Development Authority.

The disruption will continue for 10 days, during which passengers travelling on several intercity and long-distance routes may face changes in arrival and departure points.

According to Central Railway, the following trains will be short-terminated at Dadar during the block period:

  • Amravati-CSMT Express (12112)
  • Nandigram Express (11002 Ballarshah-CSMT)
  • Howrah-CSMT Express (12810)
  • Konark Express (11020 Bhubaneswar-CSMT)
  • Bidar-CSMT Express (22144)
  • Latur-CSMT Express (22108)
  • Tejas Express (22120 Madgaon-CSMT)

Meanwhile, train number 12134 Mangaluru-CSMT Express will terminate at Thane instead of CSMT.

Railway authorities have advised passengers to check revised schedules and travel updates before commencing their journey. Officials stated that the temporary operational changes are necessary to facilitate ongoing infrastructure upgrades aimed at improving passenger facilities and station capacity in the future.

Commuters travelling to or from CSMT during the block period have also been urged to make alternative travel arrangements and stay updated through official railway enquiry systems and announcements to avoid last-minute inconvenience.
