The Maharashtra government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Aggreko India Manufacturing Pvt Ltd to strengthen the state’s climate action strategy through sustainable energy and temperature control solutions.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was present during the signing ceremony held on Monday. The agreement involves an investment of Rs 400 crore in Pune and is expected to create up to 1,000 employment opportunities.
Speaking on the development, Fadnavis stressed the importance of collaborations that support economic growth while also addressing environmental sustainability and climate-related challenges.
Officials stated that the investment underlines increasing global interest in Maharashtra’s infrastructure and clean energy sectors. They added that the partnership is expected to strengthen further the state’s position as a major destination for green investments and energy innovation initiatives.
The project is also expected to contribute to Maharashtra’s broader climate action goals by promoting sustainable industrial solutions and improving energy-efficiency infrastructure across sectors.
Authorities said such partnerships are becoming increasingly important as states focus on balancing industrial expansion with long-term environmental responsibility and sustainable urban development.
