India’s aviation infrastructure has earned international recognition after two airports operated by Adani Airport Holdings Limited were included in the prestigious list of the World’s Most Beautiful Airports of 2026 by the Prix Versailles awards in Paris.
The accolade has been awarded to the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport and the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati, acknowledging their achievements in architecture, design, sustainability, and innovation.
Prix Versailles is regarded as one of the world’s most respected honours in contemporary architecture and design. The annual awards recognise exceptional projects across various categories, celebrating developments that successfully combine aesthetics, functionality, environmental responsibility, and cultural significance.
The inclusion of the two Indian airports highlights the growing global prominence of the country’s aviation infrastructure. Both facilities have been recognised for incorporating modern design principles while focusing on passenger experience, operational efficiency, and sustainable development.
Navi Mumbai International Airport, one of India’s most anticipated infrastructure projects, is expected to play a significant role in easing congestion at Mumbai’s existing airport while supporting future air traffic growth. Its design has been developed to meet international standards and accommodate rising passenger demand in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
Meanwhile, Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati has emerged as a key aviation hub in Northeast India. Its upgraded infrastructure and architectural features have contributed to its selection among the world’s leading airport developments.
