Mumbai Airport’s American Express Centurion Lounge To Close Permanently From July 1

American Express will permanently shut its Centurion Lounge at Mumbai Airport’s Terminal 2 Domestic Departures from July 1, 2026, bringing an end to one of the country’s most exclusive airport lounge offerings for premium cardholders.

Situated on Level 3 of Terminal 2’s domestic departures area, opposite Burger King, the Centurion Lounge has been a preferred destination for Platinum and Centurion Card members, offering premium dining, comfortable seating and exclusive hospitality services.

Despite the closure, American Express has confirmed that eligible customers will continue to enjoy premium airport lounge benefits. Beginning July 1, Platinum Card members will be granted access to the Adani Business Class Lounge at Mumbai Airport’s Terminal 2 Domestic, regardless of the class in which they are travelling.

The company clarified that the decision is part of broader changes taking place within Mumbai Airport’s lounge ecosystem and is not a strategic move to discontinue its airport lounge services.

Over the past few years, Mumbai Airport has been restructuring its premium hospitality offerings, with several existing lounges being renovated, consolidated or replaced as part of a wider transition under the Adani brand. The closure of the Centurion Lounge is understood to be part of this ongoing reorganisation.

While cardholders will continue to receive access to premium lounge facilities through the new arrangement, the move marks the end of American Express’ dedicated Centurion Lounge presence in India.

The transition is expected to be seamless for eligible customers, with lounge access benefits continuing through the Adani Business Class Lounge at Terminal 2. American Express has indicated that the change will not affect the premium airport experience available to qualifying card members.

The Centurion Lounge has long been recognised as one of the most sought-after airport lounges in India for its exclusive access, high-quality dining options and premium amenities. Its closure represents a significant change in Mumbai Airport’s premium travel infrastructure, even as the airport continues to modernise and streamline its lounge network under its evolving operational strategy.
