Boisar To BKC In Just 30 Minutes: CM Fadnavis Highlights Bullet Train’s Growth Potential

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has said the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project is expected to significantly improve connectivity and drive economic growth in Palghar district, with commuters likely to travel from Boisar to Mumbai’s Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) in just 30 minutes.

During a visit to Palghar on Sunday, Fadnavis inspected the under-construction Boisar bullet train station and reviewed the progress of various infrastructure projects in the district. He said work on the Boisar station is progressing steadily and is targeted for completion by December 2027.

“There are two stations for the bullet train in Palghar district — Boisar and Virar. The project will ensure the economic development of these areas and with the proposed extension of Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) to this region, the bullet train will ensure one can reach BKC in 30 minutes,” the Chief Minister said.

Fadnavis also referred to a proposal by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) to establish back-office facilities and residential complexes in Boisar. The initiative is expected to encourage people employed in BKC to reside in the region while using the bullet train for faster daily commutes.

The Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail corridor is expected to transform regional connectivity while supporting economic development and urban expansion in northern parts of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
