Hong Kong Air Cargo has commenced a dedicated freighter service from Mumbai, marking an expansion of its Indian operations and deepening its partnership with Aeroprime Group, the airline’s Cargo General Sales and Service Agent (GSSA) in India.
The new service was introduced within two months of Aeroprime Group being appointed as the airline’s Cargo GSSA in the country. The collaboration is aimed at improving air cargo connectivity between India and Hong Kong while creating greater opportunities for businesses engaged in international trade.
The Mumbai freighter service will offer additional inbound cargo capacity to India and provide exporters with improved access to Hong Kong as well as onward international markets. The move is expected to add capacity to one of India’s important air cargo routes and support businesses seeking more efficient international freight connections.
Abhishek Goyal, Executive Director of Aeroprime Group, said the launch demonstrated the commitment and responsiveness of both organisations. He highlighted Mumbai’s importance as a strategic cargo gateway and said the new service would give customers greater capacity, enhanced connectivity and dependable cargo solutions.
Raymond Chen, Vice President and Commercial spokesperson at Hong Kong Air Cargo, described the Mumbai operation as a significant development in the airline’s India expansion plans. He identified Mumbai as a major export centre and acknowledged Aeroprime Group’s contribution towards strengthening Hong Kong Air Cargo’s footprint in the Indian market.
The launch further underlines the airline’s focus on expanding its presence in India’s growing air freight sector. For Aeroprime Group, the partnership reinforces its role in supporting the airline’s commercial expansion and market development activities.
The Mumbai service also strengthens the city’s role as a major gateway for India’s international air cargo trade, particularly with Hong Kong and other markets across East Asia and beyond. With additional freighter capacity, exporters and logistics companies are expected to gain another option for moving goods through the region’s established air cargo network.
