Maharashtra Minister of State for Housing Dr Pankaj Bhoyar has instructed officials to take prompt action on long-standing housing, redevelopment and infrastructure-related concerns raised by residents of Aramnagar in Versova.
A review meeting was held at Mantralaya to assess the issues affecting residents of the locality. Discussions covered civic infrastructure, redevelopment proposals and administrative hurdles that have delayed the resolution of several matters.
Bhoyar directed the concerned departments and MHADA officials to examine the pending issues and work towards permanent solutions within the existing legal and regulatory framework. He also stressed that residents should not face prolonged delays in receiving decisions or approvals on matters concerning their homes and neighbourhood.
The meeting was attended by former MLA Bharati Lavekar, Mumbai MHADA Chief Officer Borikar, Housing Department Joint Secretary Vidya Hampaya and senior officials from various departments.
During the meeting, Lavekar and other officials briefed the minister on the ground-level situation in Aramnagar and the concerns raised by residents. The discussions focused on the need to improve infrastructure and accelerate redevelopment-related processes while addressing administrative bottlenecks.
Bhoyar directed officials to ensure that pending proposals and approval procedures are processed without unnecessary delays. He called for greater coordination among the departments involved so that issues requiring action from multiple authorities can be resolved efficiently.
The minister further instructed MHADA officials to initiate necessary steps at the earliest and maintain regular follow-up on the matters discussed during the meeting. He emphasised that decisions should be taken in accordance with applicable rules while keeping the interests and concerns of Aramnagar residents at the centre of the process.
The review is expected to provide a coordinated administrative push to several issues that have remained unresolved for an extended period. Officials have been asked to expedite the process and work towards providing relief to residents at the earliest.
