Columbia Group has launched its first Global Capability Centre (GCC) in India, establishing a new base at Mindspace Business Park in Navi Mumbai to support the maritime group’s international operations.
Spread across 20,000 sq ft, the new centre can accommodate approximately 220 employees and will function as an operational and digital hub for Columbia Group. The facility is expected to strengthen the company’s ability to support its global businesses while enabling teams in India to collaborate with colleagues across international markets and time zones.
The launch is part of Columbia Group’s broader expansion in India, with Navi Mumbai selected for its strong commercial infrastructure, connectivity and access to a growing pool of technology and maritime professionals. The city’s expanding business ecosystem has increasingly attracted multinational companies looking to establish global delivery and support operations.
The workplace strategy, architectural design, development and turnkey execution for the facility were handled by Team One Architects. The centre has been designed with flexibility in mind, incorporating modular workspaces that can be expanded or reconfigured as the company’s Indian operations grow.
The new workplace features technology-enabled meeting rooms and global video-conferencing facilities to facilitate communication with teams worldwide. It also includes digital room-booking systems, sensor-based lighting and secure access controls aimed at improving workplace efficiency and security.
The office layout incorporates dedicated zones for focused individual work, collaboration and meetings. Its interiors also feature design elements reflecting Columbia Group’s maritime identity, creating a workplace environment connected to the company’s global business.
The opening of the GCC further strengthens Navi Mumbai’s position as an emerging destination for multinational capability centres. Companies are increasingly exploring locations beyond established technology hubs such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Pune, with Navi Mumbai benefiting from its connectivity, commercial infrastructure and access to skilled talent.
The new Columbia Group facility is expected to support the company’s worldwide operations while contributing to the growth of Navi Mumbai’s expanding GCC ecosystem and strengthening the city’s role in India’s global business services landscape.
