Actor Akshay Oberoi has reportedly purchased a farmhouse in Karjat, Maharashtra, valued at around Rs 3 crore, creating a private retreat where he can escape Mumbai’s fast-paced lifestyle and spend quality time with his wife and son. The property, which took nearly 1.5 years to complete, combines earthy interiors, tropical minimalism and natural elements to create a warm and relaxed holiday home.
“This farmhouse is more than just a property; it’s my sanctuary. A place where I can disconnect from the chaos of Mumbai and reconnect with myself and my family,” Akshay said.
Set in the scenic surroundings of Karjat, the farmhouse has been designed to reflect Oberoi’s preference for nature and understated aesthetics. Although landscaping work is still in progress, the completed house is already being used by the actor and his family as a weekend and holiday getaway.

Oberoi said owning a home surrounded by nature had been a long-standing dream. “Spending quality time with my wife and son here is truly priceless. It’s where I can relax, rejuvenate, and simply enjoy the little moments of life,” he added.
Earthy Interiors With a Contemporary Touch
The farmhouse’s interiors draw inspiration from traditional Indian homes, with a colour palette dominated by warm shades of red, orange and terracotta. These tones give the spaces a grounded feel while reflecting the colours and textures commonly associated with natural materials and traditional architecture.

The design also incorporates elements of tropical minimalism, pairing organic textures and materials with simple, uncluttered forms. Instead of relying heavily on elaborate décor, the interiors focus on creating a calm atmosphere suited to a home designed primarily for relaxation.
Walls inspired by terracotta architecture add character to the rooms, while timber furniture introduces warmth. Muted tones across seating areas and other furnishings help maintain a balanced and understated look.
The overall design avoids an excessively opulent appearance, instead combining comfort with carefully considered details. Natural textures, warm colours and simple furniture contribute to the farmhouse’s informal character and its connection with the surrounding landscape.
A Private Space for Family Time
For Oberoi, the property represents more than a real estate investment. The farmhouse has been conceived as a space where he and his family can slow down and spend time away from the demands of city life.

“I feel incredibly blessed. This farmhouse wouldn’t have been possible without the fruitful projects I’ve been a part of recently. It’s a reminder of how far I’ve come and how much I have to be thankful for,” he said.
The location in Karjat further complements the concept, offering a quieter environment away from Mumbai while remaining within relatively convenient reach of the city. Its combination of open surroundings, nature-inspired interiors and family-oriented spaces gives the property the feel of a personal sanctuary rather than a conventional luxury second home.
With its earthy palette, timber accents and tropical-minimalist aesthetic, Akshay Oberoi’s Karjat farmhouse reflects a growing preference among urban homeowners for properties that prioritise wellness, privacy and a closer connection to nature. For the actor, it is ultimately a place to disconnect from Mumbai, recharge and create memories with his family.
