The Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has stepped up its enforcement drive against unauthorised development, clearing 65 illegal foundations and structures from the Balyani-Galegaon area.
The action was carried out behind the NRC Company premises at Dongarwali Maiya in Galegaon, falling under the civic body’s ‘A’ Ward. JCB machines were deployed to remove unauthorised rooms, plinths and other structures.
The demolition was undertaken on the instructions of KDMC Commissioner Abhinav Goel and under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Prasad Borkar. ‘A’ Ward Assistant Commissioner Anita Rathod led the operation along with officials and staff from the unauthorised construction control department.
Police personnel were deployed at the site to maintain law and order during the drive.
The civic administration has indicated that action against unauthorised constructions will continue across the KDMC jurisdiction.
