Mumbai Metro One, which operates Metro Line 1, has secured four ISO certifications covering operational management and information security, strengthening its focus on structured processes and risk management.
The certifications were issued to Mumbai Metro One on September 26, 2026. The company said the recognition reflects an integrated approach combining its Integrated Management System (IMS) with an Information Security Management System (ISMS).
Mumbai Metro One has described the achievement as the first in India involving the combined certification framework. However, the announcement did not disclose the certifying organisation or specify the individual standards covered by the certifications.
According to the company, the certifications are expected to help strengthen operational and administrative systems by bringing greater consistency to internal processes. They are also aimed at improving the management of operational risks and safeguarding critical information.
By aligning its procedures with internationally recognised standards, Mumbai Metro One said it intends to establish a more systematic approach to both day-to-day operations and information management. The move comes as the city’s Metro Line 1 continues to play an important role in connecting key parts of Mumbai’s eastern and western suburbs.
The certifications also underline the operator’s focus on strengthening organisational systems alongside its public transport operations.
