Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) is expanding its ground transport, accommodation and last-mile connectivity options ahead of the Winter Schedule 2026-27, as flight operations and passenger traffic are expected to increase.
The airport, operated by Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL), is preparing for the winter schedule from October 25, 2026, to March 27, 2027. The expanded network will include buses, taxis, autorickshaws, car rentals and airport shuttles connecting NMIA with Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Pune and other parts of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has introduced e-Shivai electric bus services linking NMIA with Dadar, Borivali and Pune. Maharashtra Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik said, “Through MSRTC, these bus services we are starting from today from Dadar, Borivali and Swargate. Pune we are connecting NMIA with a very nominal cost.”
He added, “As the major flight operations at T1 Santacruz Airport are expected to shift to NMIA in due course of time, we have come up with this initiative that will boost connectivity and help people travel with minimal cost. The prices are kept very nominal.”
Fares from NMIA are ₹450 to Pune, ₹210 to Borivali and ₹170 to Dadar East. Children below 12 and women travelling with a National Common Mobility Card can avail a 50% concession. MSRTC plans to extend services to Thane and Nashik by mid-November.
Private operator Chalo Bus currently runs 21 daily services to Marol, Bandra, Dadar and Colaba’s World Trade Centre.
For passengers requiring accommodation between flights, the Swirl Transit Hotel at Terminal 1 offers 80 rooms across six categories, along with flexible stays, 24-hour dining, Wi-Fi and workspaces.
Within Navi Mumbai, NMMT operates seven airport routes connecting Terminal 1 with Kharkopar, Targhar, Belapur, Nerul, Panvel, Khandeshwar and the Airport Project Office.
NMIA is also adding Uber Go, Uber Premier, Uber Auto, prepaid taxis, autorickshaws and car rentals. Bharat Taxi is expected to begin operations on October 10 with up to 40 vehicles.
A complimentary hourly shuttle between NMIA and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport will also operate through Cityflo, Aarya and Chalo.
Overall, NMIA’s ground transport network is being scaled up to 4,594 vehicles and services, including app-based taxis, buses, autorickshaws and rental cars.
